It started with a borrowed camera and a Nairobi sunset. Ten years later, we have a crew of 15, a client list that spans continents, and one unchanged belief: the right story, told the right way, changes everything.

The story
Ken Mwaura had grown up around cameras — his father was both a military officer and a videographer — but the pull never came. Not until one evening at Olepolos in Kiserian, when he borrowed his cousin John’s camera and captured a sky on fire over the city. In that single moment, something clicked.
Two weeks of roaming Nairobi later, a photo of his entered the Samsung “Picha Hamsini” competition celebrating 50 years of Kenyan independence. It won. It appeared on CNN. One month later, he bought the camera.
On 11 May 2016, Motion Path Media Ltd was born — built on two words that mean everything: Motion, for the relentless drive forward; Path, for the journey that shapes us all. A decade of production later, MPM has grown into a 15-person creative force serving corporate Kenya, regional NGOs, hospitality groups and international organisations — telling stories that stick.
What we believe
Vision — to become a leading media production company that sparks conversations, challenges perspectives, and contributes to a more informed and empathetic world.
Mission — to tell stories that inspire change, bridge cultural divides, and highlight important issues through dynamic and innovative media production.
Values — Progress. Journey. Diversity & Inclusion. Impact. Excellence. Five words that govern every brief we accept, every frame we shoot, and every edit we deliver.
The crew
Fifteen people. Seven photographers, eleven videographers, an average of nine years behind the camera. We stay behind it until you look.

Recognition
Winner — Samsung “Picha Hamsini”, celebrating 50 years of Kenyan independence. Featured on CNN. A founding story we never have to embellish, because it is true.
They saw the light in this property the way we see it. Bookings followed the photographs.
Working from London, I needed a production partner I never had to chase. I never chased.
They simply do what they say they will do — on time, on brief, on budget. In this market, that is gold.
The crew understood the development context without being told twice. The film carried our donor report.
